User Guide for the 'Move Recorders, Keep Footage,' Migration Workflow
Pre-requisites
Network Access to the source and the destination deployments.
A valid XPort tool installer (shared by Vega via a Box link after purchase).
Milestone admin credentials for both the source and the destination systems.
This migration workflow requires an empty recorder (without cameras) to be attached to the destination site before migration. After the migration is complete, this temporary recorder can be disconnected and repurposed for other uses. Since this recorder is solely a placeholder for configuration, it does not have any specific storage requirements. No media is recorded onto it.
Warning: All pre-existing devices are removed from the temporary recorder by XPort before migration begins. It is critical not to use a recorder that is actively in use.
