First Synchronization Run

Run the synchronization service manually for the first time to assign licenses and copy cameras

At this point, after completing the settings specified in the sections (in order): Enable the SmartSync Service, Set Synchronization Direction, Architecture Selection, Server Labeling, Mode Selection, Server Linking, Storage Linking, Licensing, and Add Camera, we must run synchronization once to copy devices and assign licenses.

Note: We recommend enabling the Add Cameras stage so that any cameras on the Primary site that are not on the Secondary Site get copied over if there are available RMF licenses. If cameras are present on both sites a priori, licenses are assigned to them.

  1. To run the service for the first time, go to the Run tab.

  1. Click on the green 'Play' button to start a synchronization run.

  2. Once the initial synchronization is complete, the license count in the top bar will be updated to reflect the number of RMF licenses consumed.

  1. Move back to the Settings tab and resume subsequent configuration.
