7.4.0

RMF 7.4.0 Software Release Notes

Software Version: 7.4.0 (beta)

Release Date: May 28, 2025

Info
Version

Tested With

XProtect Corporate 2024R1 XProtect Corporate 2022R3

Uses

There are two flavors of this release:

Flavor 1 uses: MIP SDK 2023R2

Flavor 2 uses: MIP SDK 2022R1 .NET Framework 4.8

Not Compatible With

Do not use flavor 1 with XProtect versions before 2023R2.

Use flavor 2 for XProtect versions from 2022R1 to 2023R1. Do not use for XProtect versions before 2022 R1.

New Features

SmartSync

  1. Added support for syncing various event types, including user-defined events, analytics events, and generic events.

  2. Enabled auto handling of selected mismatched cameras (i.e., cameras available on other servers), allowing automatic movement and licensing of those cameras

RMF

  1. Displays xProtect Device Pack mismatches between linked primary and secondary recording servers.

  2. Support for Manual Mode camera mapping.

  3. Previously, RMF supported stream-level failover only between a primary parent and a redundant child site. With this release, stream-level failover is now also supported between redundant cameras located on the same site - either both on the child site or both on the parent site. Additionally, RMF cameras from child sites can now be viewed directly in the parent site’s Smart Client.

  4. Configuration support added to enable or disable specific event categories.

API

  1. Now includes child site RMF cameras in API responses.

Other Improvements

  1. While fetching data, the application now shows the Camera Group name instead of a generic message, improving responsiveness.

  2. Server Labeling: Users can now select multiple recording servers simultaneously.

  3. Server Linking: The list of secondary servers is now sorted alphabetically for easier linking.

  4. Storage Profile Configuration: When configuring primary and secondary storage profiles, the corresponding profile in the opposite list is auto-selected if the names match.

  5. Licensing Enhancements

    1. Cameras are now grouped into categories: Licensed, License-Eligible, Not in a Group, In Multiple Servers, and Available Elsewhere.

    2. Added Expand All / Collapse All options.

    3. Introduced search functionality by server name.

    4. Displayed camera counts per category in the licensing window.

    5. Added the option to select mismatched cameras (available on other servers) and move + license them on the correct server.

    6. Help tooltips added for each category.
