RMF enhances the Smart Client by routing alarms from secondary recorders

Introduction

Operators often need to investigate an alarm days after it fired. If the original recorder is offline at review time, they can be left without crucial footage.

The new redundancy enhancement in Milestone XProtect Smart Client’s Alarm Viewer solves this by automatically pulling the video from a secondary site whenever the primary recorder is unavailable

Functionality

• Seamless failover: If the primary camera or recorder is offline, Alarm Viewer instantly opens the matching stream from the redundant recorder in a pop-up window.

• Bidirectional coverage: The same logic applies in reverse—alarms tied to the secondary recorder will fall back to the primary if needed.
